Using Server Templates
Don't want to configure everything from scratch? Templates are pre-built server setups that give you a working configuration in one click. They're especially handy if you're new or just want to get a specific type of server running fast.
What's in a Template?
A template includes pre-configured settings for:
- Server name and description
- Map selection
- Max players and max cars
- Any recommended mods (depending on the template)
- Optimized settings for the use case
Think of it as a starting point. You can always tweak things after applying a template.
How to Apply a Template
- Go to the Templates tab in your panel
- Browse the available templates
- Pick one that matches what you want
- Click Apply
- Restart your server
Heads up: Applying a template overwrites your current config. Back up first if you've got settings you want to keep.
Available Templates
Templates vary, but common setups include:
Freeroam Server
The classic. Open world, multiple vehicle spawns, a good all-rounder map. Great for just hanging out and cruising with friends.
Drift Server
Tuned for drifting — typically runs a map with good drift spots, allows multiple car spawns so people can swap vehicles, and keeps player counts manageable for performance.
Racing Server
Focused on competitive driving. Usually a track map with settings optimized for fair racing conditions.
Vanilla / Clean Server
Minimal setup — no mods, default map, small player count. Good for starting fresh and building up exactly what you want.
After Applying a Template
The template gets you 80% of the way there. From here you might want to:
- Add your own mods on top
- Tweak the server config to fine-tune settings
- Change the map to your preferred one
Templates and customization aren't mutually exclusive — use the template as a foundation, then make it yours.
