Installing Plugins on Your Minecraft Server

Plugins extend your Minecraft server with new features, commands, and gameplay mechanics.

Requirements

  • A Spigot, Paper, or Bukkit server (plugins don't work on Vanilla)
  • SFTP client (like FileZilla) or use our built-in file manager

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Download Your Plugin

Get plugins from trusted sources:

Make sure the plugin is compatible with your server version!

2. Upload the Plugin

Using SFTP or the file manager:

  1. Connect to your server
  2. Navigate to the plugins folder
  3. Upload the .jar file
/plugins/
  ├── YourPlugin.jar
  └── ...

3. Restart Your Server

After uploading, restart your server for the plugin to load.

4. Configure the Plugin

Most plugins create a config file on first run:

/plugins/YourPlugin/
  └── config.yml

Edit this file to customize the plugin, then restart again.

PluginDescription
EssentialsXCore commands and features
LuckPermsPermission management
WorldEditIn-game map editing
VaultEconomy API

Troubleshooting

  • Plugin not loading? Check the console for errors
  • Wrong version? Download the correct plugin version
  • Conflicts? Some plugins don't work together
